A New Era of Deepwater Exploration 

Deepwater X is a California nonprofit committed to the scientific exploration of deepwater environments. With a primary focus on Lake Tahoe, our mission is to develop open source hardware and software to support and carry out deepwater expeditions.

Deepwater X seeks to publicly catalog new and rare species, underwater geology, objects of historical significance, and human impacts and opportunities in deepwater domains.

About Deepwater X

The Deepwater Exploration Foundation is dedicated to the scientific exploration of deepwater environments. Starting with Lake Tahoe, our goal is to develop the ability to drop a highly mobile launch vessel and ROV in any freshwater lake in North America, with processes to survey the bottom for new species, geographic landforms, historical artifacts, environmental impacts, and other points of interest.

By fostering collaboration and open sharing of information, hardware, and software, we aim to inspire new discoveries and promote the preservation of our planet's underwater frontiers. Join us on our journey to explore the depths and get to the bottom of Earth's most mysterious habitats.
